127 West 79th Street

Our project at 127 West 79th Street focused on restoration of the bulkhead, as well as the replacement of the bulkhead roof and cornice. This historic building, erected in 1926 and converted to a co-operative in 1985, features 15 stories plus a Penthouse, with a flat roof and a three-level bulkhead.

To honor its historical authenticity, we sourced terracotta roof tiles from, Ludowici, the same manufacturer that produced the originals installed in 1927. With over 130 years in business, this manufacturer continues to produce the identical model and style, ensuring a seamless match with the originals.

With approval of the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC), we also crafted a formed copper cornice with treated wood supports. This custom-made cornice integrates with the historic facade, preserving its architectural significance.
