The 89th Street Townhouse project involved a complete renovation and conversion of a multi-family residential townhouse into a luxurious single-family residence. This stunning townhouse is located in Manhattan's West End Historic District and spans five stories. The exterior masonry walls were fully bonded, while the interior consists of wood framing.

One of the main features of the renovation was the addition of a two-story aluminum window in the living room, which extends to the Garden level where the once cellar has been transformed into a spacious kitchen and casual dining area with access to the rear garden. The second floor was transformed into a master bedroom with a spacious master bath, while the third and fourth floors feature four additional bedrooms with private bathrooms.

As part of the renovation, we upgraded the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to meet current energy codes. We also added a new bulkhead and rooftop terrace, which provides breathtaking views of the city skyline. The exterior of the building was restored, and new windows were installed, with all exterior work subject to approval by the Landmarks Preservation Commission.

The renovation design choices were focused on transforming the narrow 19-foot townhouse into a spacious and luxurious home. The result is an exquisite single-family residence that perfectly blends modern amenities with historic charm.
