The Chapel of the Sisters, an 1857 Romanesque funerary chapel nestled within the 1668 Prospect Cemetery, holds significant historical and architectural value. The chapel, constructed with brownstone and fieldstone, stands as a testament to the past and is individually designated as a New York City Landmark.

Our restoration project for the Chapel of the Sisters garnered recognition from The Preservation League of New York State in 2009. The restoration efforts encompassed various aspects, including the fabrication of new stained glass windows, the replacement of doors and windows with faithful replicas, and the detailed restoration of interior surfaces.

The Excellence in Historic Preservation award acknowledges our commitment to maintaining and honoring the chapel's legacy. By introducing modern amenities such as heat and plumbing, we ensured the comfort and functionality of the chapel while preserving its historic character. The restoration work not only addressed deteriorated conditions but also safeguarded the chapel for future generations to appreciate and enjoy.
