Christopher Court, a pair of six-story buildings managed by Catholic Charities in the Bronx, underwent a comprehensive rehabilitation process in multiple phases. The first phase focused on addressing chronic leakage issues by replacing the roofs, followed by a parapet replacement project with necessary masonry work to ensure safety. In conjunction with these exterior upgrades, elevator modernization was carried out, accommodating residents during the process by providing temporary assistance up and down the stairs.

To further enhance energy efficiency and structural integrity, all windows throughout the 160-unit apartment complex were replaced. Boilers were modernized, elevators were upgraded for improved functionality and energy efficiency, and communal spaces received special attention. The renovation of common rooms and the entry sequence aimed at creating modern and inviting spaces for residents to gather and foster a sense of community.

In addition to the exterior work, the interior of the building underwent significant renovation. The office, bathrooms, storage room, community room, and adjacent vestibule all received extensive updates. The project included closing windows connecting the office and community room to adjacent hallways, installing new kitchenettes in these areas, and updating plumbing fixtures in the bathrooms. A new partition was introduced in the office to accommodate a new waiting room, while lighting and finishes were upgraded throughout, including new tiling.

With these comprehensive renovations, Christopher Court has been transformed into a more efficient, safe, and inviting living environment for its residents.
