Non Destructive Facade Evaluation

CTA Architects is thrilled to announce a collaboration with Atkinson-Noland & Associates to offer our clients a new and innovative way to satisfy some of the recently issued requirements of New York City's Facade Inspection and Safety Program (FISP). Building on A&N's skills in non destructive facade evaluation we have developed a method using metal detection technology in conjunction with video borescope documentation to investigate the condition of wall ties in masonry cavity walls.

This innovative system has been accepted by the FISP division of the New York City Department of Buildings as an acceptable substitute for the new code mandated destructive probes of cavity walls. This program of investigation can save Building Owners the cost and disruption of hiring a masonry contractor to open the mandated probes and close them after inspection.

The program also obviates the need for a sidewalk shed where appropriate not to mention the potential costs related to permitting and, in certain cases, LPC filing. Contact us to see if this is right for your building.
