The replacement of the brass vestibule doors at the Military & Naval Affairs Armory in Queens, New York, was a project of great importance aimed at restoring the functionality and aesthetics of this iconic building. The original doors, dating back to 1936, were in poor condition, and some were not functional, which posed a significant security risk to the building.

To restore the doors, our team designed custom brass doors that fit the existing frames and matched the design of the original doors. The doors were carefully crafted to ensure that they were not only functional but also visually stunning, and the only modern modification made was the addition of insulated glazing to improve energy efficiency.

Our team took great care to reuse original hardware where possible, preserving the historical significance of the doors. Where new hardware was necessary, we carefully selected pieces that would complement the design of the doors and frames and ensure that the doors functioned efficiently and securely.

The replacement of the brass vestibule doors was completed for the New York State Office of General Services, and the new doors play and important part in preserving the historical significance of this iconic building.
