WHEDco office space

The Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corporation (WHEDco) is a community development organization founded on the belief that all people deserve healthy, vibrant communities. WHEDco’s mission is to provide the South Bronx with access to essential resources that foster thriving neighborhoods, including high-quality education, fresh and healthy food, cultural programming, and economic opportunities.

CTA collaborated with WHEDco to transform an existing core and shell space at 443 East 162nd Street into a dynamic, multi-use office environment. Completed in 2025, the renovation introduced two private offices, an open cubicle area, a conference room, a classroom, and a pantry, creating a functional and adaptable workspace to support WHEDco’s initiatives. Our design incorporated interior windows between the spaces to enhance usability and aesthetics. Additionally, we upgraded ventilation systems to improve indoor air quality, ensuring a safe and comfortable working environment. 

The new space aligns with WHEDco’s mission, empowering the organization to continue its vital work in the South Bronx.
