In 2008, our team embarked on the restoration of this remarkable 1901 townhouse designed by Richard W. Buckley. The focus aimed to revive its original design, focusing on the façade, cornice, and balustrade. We used surviving physical evidence, historic photos, and the original architect's rendering to replicate these elements using matching materials. In addition to restoring the original features, our project scope also included recladding the side elevation multi-story projecting bay window and spandrel assembly in paneled zinc-coated copper. We also replaced the windows of all facades with exact historical replicas. This restoration garnered recognition, receiving the prestigious 2013 Residential Architect Design Award and the Restoration/Preservation Merit Award.

In 2022, we completed the rebuilding of the limestone stoop, which had deteriorated over time. This comprehensive restoration effort involved the installation of new waterproofing beneath the new steps and the implementation of a new electrical snowmelt system, ensuring both functionality and durability. Additionally, new stucco was applied to the adjacent areaway, further enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of this magnificent Upper East Side mansion. The completed stoop revitalizes the townhouse, infusing it with renewed vibrancy and charm that seamlessly blend the past with the present.
