Berkeley Carroll

Berkeley Carroll is a school located in Brooklyn's Park Slope Historic District and consists of four buildings. Our project involved the replacement of roofs and exterior restoration at all four buildings.

At the Institute Building, we installed a new standing seam copper roof on one side and a new slate roof on the other side. The North Building received a new standing seam copper roof, while the Main Building and Stair A received new faux slate roofs with matching, eco-friendly tiles. We also replaced the skylight at the Main Building, installed a new skylight at the North Building, and removed and replaced the skylight at the Institute with the new roofing system.

In addition to roof replacements, we installed new metal counter flashing, sub-coping flashing, and a variety of new copper elements unique to each roof, such as roof vents, ridge caps, gutters & downspouts, and decorative parapet cladding.

Our team also conducted masonry replacement, limestone patching, and repointing mortar joints throughout the educational complex. We focused on maintaining the historical integrity of the buildings while addressing any necessary repairs or replacements.

Throughout the project, we worked closely with the school to ensure minimal disruption to daily operations. Berkeley Carroll School complex now not only looks beautiful but is also safer and more comfortable for its students and faculty.
