The 369th Regiment Armory, also known as the Harlem Armory, is a New York State building complex consisting of two connected buildings: The Administration Building and the Fifth Avenue Armory. This complex has historical significance as it was the home of the Harlem Hellfighters, an African-American regiment that served during World War I. In 1985, both buildings were designated as individual landmarks by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.

As part of our term contract with the New York State Office of General Services (OGS), our team was responsible for replacing the membranes at all five roofs of the Harlem Armory. In addition to replacing the roofing material, we also replaced the roof drains, access ladders, and the waterproofing at the perimeter roof's interior parapets. This work was essential to ensure that the building is watertight and protected from water damage.

We further installed new code-compliant handrails and a new snow guard system as part of the project. This not only improves the safety of the building's occupants but also helps to prevent snow and ice buildup that had previously caused damage to the roof, parapets and surrounding street when large sheets of snow slid off the roof.

Throughout the project, we were mindful of the historical significance of the Harlem Armory and worked to ensure that all work was completed with sensitivity and respect for the building's unique character. Our team was proud to be a part of the effort to preserve this important piece of New York City's architectural heritage.
