We were honored to have been a part of the exterior restoration project of Gouverneur Court, a historic low-income and special-needs housing facility located on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Our team carefully removed, restored, and reinstalled the original terra cotta at the fifth-floor water table. Unfortunately, the decorative terra cotta at the building’s arched entry was beyond repair, but we paid careful attention to specify and install new cast stone that matched the original color and texture.
Additionally, we performed localized masonry repairs on all facades and replaced the main and bulkhead roofs, ensuring that the building's structural integrity was maintained. Through our efforts, we were able to help preserve the building's rich history and ensure that it remains a vital part of the community for years to come.
